Alonso López Guzmán

My name is Alonso López Guzmán, I am a graduate in Theology. My father is a farmer, although he currently works in construction, and my mother is a housewife.

Initially my intentions were to study engineering in software development in a public institution, but God had other plans and He showed them to me through several dreams. I had about five dreams about God’s plan for my life.

In prayer, I asked God if He was really speaking to me through those dreams and begged Him to be clearer so that I could understand. I was told that I had to report. I thought that colportage was not for me. I was very shy and it was hard for me to speak Spanish well (my mother tongue is Tseltal). Through dreams, God told me that it would not be easy, but that he was going to be with me. So I decided to go to colportar and thanks to that I was able to cover most of my tuition.

During my time at Linda Vista I really enjoyed participating in the clubs and missionary activities. God has given me the talent to do portraits. At one point I was even offered a scholarship to study art, but I could not give up my calling to be a pastor.

Now that I am a pastor I dream of going where God leads me and presenting to people the good news of salvation, sharing God’s love to people through His Word and serving Him until the last day of my life.
